Somewhere between a sophomoric morning zoo and smart public radio, you'll find the Eric Rice Show. Musing on everything from entertainment, technology, and culture, this show from California is led by Silicon Valley's Eric Rice and joined by a cast of millions. The Eric Rice Show is a spinoff of Slackstreet Radio, which has been entertaining small, shady corners of the internet since late 2001.
What the hell is a podcast and who the hell are you?
We're glad you asked. First of all, let's get this podcast thing out of the way.

You can have someone dictate to you that your drive time commute is going to go a certain way. And all of that radio stuff is going to be based on what appeals to most of the people in your area. Even if it ain't your speed. So whatcha gonna do about? Nothing much, if you believe what you're told.

See, here's the thing. You've probably got an MP3 player by now. We know you've got CDs. You have a ton of music. You're making your own radio station everyday. You're not told what's the latest and greatest by some in a cubicle. You hear it from your friends and family, and sometimes, complete strangers.

And if you like morning shows or talk radio, you're in luck. Hundreds and thousands of shows are popping up all over the internet. Some have been around for years. Others are coming online all the time. Some might suck. Some might kick ass. And there's no FCC. And there's no rule about when you can listen to them. Just pick the shows you want to have downloaded to your computer whenever they're fresh, and the job's done. Grab 'em and go.

That's podcasting. That's powerful.

Introducing your hosts
Four geeks. With attitudes. From California. And Slackers. There's not too many other ways to slice it.

Take Grog, a culmination of wicked hacker nerdness, sarcasm, disdain, and evil. He's more well equipped to communicate than your average police department. He wishes the world were on fire so he could drive through it with angry, industrial music thundering from his Mad Max pickup truck. If blowing up stupid shit were legal, he'd be too busy to do a radio show.

Then there's tonyB, our resident pacific-rim king of smoove-ness. He's high-tech and hip-hop. The watcher. He's got things figured out within three minutes. In the tech world, he's hyperconnected. Get out the rum, get out the jamz. And damn ladies, watch out.

Josh. Suge White. The Rock. He's got a dozen names. Snowboarder. Skateboarder. Gadget aficionado. Oh yeah, and he hates Nirvana, but he digs the Buffy franchise. Figure that one out. He loves the fast cars, but he loves the big trucks more. Loyal nerd, but not ashamed to call your bullshit to the front of the class.

Finally, Eric Rice. He's the leader of this pack. A reformed nerd, he's the anti-demographic. He talks fast, he drives faster. He's a hip-hopper and a showstopper (who writes this shit?). He got this internet radio thing for Slackstreet Entertainment started back in 2001. So, while podcasting might be new, the radio gig isn't. A proper Gen-X smart ass, he's a blend of Silicon Valley and Hollywood, who believes that New York City needs to move its ass closer to California. Only then, can we all rule the world.
